FOCUS column
ResourceName
The display name of the resource, as given by the person who created it, distinct from the provider-assigned id. Names are what engineers recognize and what tagging conventions often encode, but they are not unique, so grouping is done on the id and the name is shown alongside.
Example
A virtual machine created as “payments-api-prod-01” carries that name here and its provider resource id in ResourceId.
Where it comes from, per export
The export column that feeds ResourceName in each format the platform ingests, and the transform applied. A format with no row does not carry the column; the value is then absent rather than guessed.
| Export | Source column | Transform |
|---|---|---|
| AWS Data Exports, FOCUS | ResourceName | as is |
| Azure Cost Management, FOCUS export | ResourceName | as is |
| Azure Cost Details (actual cost) | ResourceName | as is |
| Azure Cost Details (amortized cost) | ResourceName | as is |
| Google Cloud detailed billing export | resource.global_name | as is |
How Runcost uses it
Runcost shows resource names in the drill-down and in anomaly alerts so the team receiving an alert recognizes the resource at once.
