FOCUS column
PricingCurrencyEffectiveCost
EffectiveCost expressed in the pricing currency rather than the billing currency. It exists for organizations billed in a local currency against a price list in another, so amortized cost can be analyzed at price-list level without a conversion the provider did not make.
Example
A row billed as £48.00 EffectiveCost against a USD price list carries $60.00 in PricingCurrencyEffectiveCost at the provider’s rate.
Where it comes from, per export
The export column that feeds PricingCurrencyEffectiveCost in each format the platform ingests, and the transform applied. A format with no row does not carry the column; the value is then absent rather than guessed.
| Export | Source column | Transform |
|---|---|---|
| AWS Data Exports, FOCUS | PricingCurrencyEffectiveCost | cast to decimal |
| Azure Cost Management, FOCUS export | PricingCurrencyEffectiveCost | cast to decimal |
| Azure Cost Details (actual cost) | CostInPricingCurrency | cast to decimal |
| Azure Cost Details (amortized cost) | CostInPricingCurrency | cast to decimal |
| Google Cloud detailed billing export | Not carried | — |
How Runcost uses it
Runcost uses the pricing-currency figures to compare unit economics across agreements billed in different currencies.
